Food & Nutrition Support: Ending Hunger, Building Strength
Serving Humanity in Times of Crisis
At Dnyandeep Sanstha, we believe that access to food and basic necessities is a fundamental human right—especially during times of crisis. During the COVID-19 pandemic, when thousands of migrant workers and daily wage laborers were left without jobs, shelter, or food, our Sanstha stepped forward to serve humanity at the grassroots level.
For nearly two years, we actively ran community kitchens to support migrant laborers and underprivileged families affected by the pandemic. As workers from different parts of India, including Madhya Pradesh and various towns, passed through Nagpur city while returning to their native villages, we ensured they received timely food, care, and support.
Our Initiatives
- Community Kitchens During COVID-19
We set up community kitchens at toll naka points, stadiums, gardens, and public spaces, providing freshly cooked meals to migrant workers, travelers, and families in need. - Food Distribution for Daily Wage Laborers
Cooked food was packed in containers and distributed to hand laborers and unemployed workers who were struggling to survive during lockdown periods. - On-the-Spot Food Serving
Large food containers were placed on vehicles stationed at major city squares, allowing volunteers to serve meals directly to people on the streets in a safe and organized manner. - Nutrition, Safety, and Basic Care
Along with meals, we distributed fruits, drinking water, sanitization materials, and basic medicines, ensuring both nutrition and health support. - Support for Safe Return Home
In collaboration with other organizations, we assisted migrant workers in reaching their villages by arranging buses, trucks, and ambulances, helping them travel safely during uncertain times.
Through compassion, coordination, and continuous effort, Dnyandeep Sanstha stood beside those who needed support the most—serving not just food, but hope and dignity during one of the most challenging periods in recent history.
